MEETING HIGHLIGHTSMarch 1, 2010
1. Opening Prayer: The opening prayer was given by Larry Donnelly.
2. Welcome: The president welcomed everyone and briefly covered the agenda for the evening. There were 21 members present for the meeting.
3. Secretary’s Report: Bill Scharpf reported that the February meeting highlights were distributed by e mail to all members. As there were no corrections or additions, they were accepted and will be posted by Jack McFadden on the club address on the Church website.
The President recognized the following members who helped with the repair and renovation to Len Elter’s fire damaged business. The shop is up and running at 100%.

4. Treasurers Report: Maurice Erly reported Strove Tuesday was successful with 137 in attendance. We had an income of $834, expenses of $377, thus a balance of $466 for the event. According to the Church account our total credits to date are $2,231.00 and our total debits have been 2,086.99. The monthly meeting refreshment fund is also in the black.
5. Pastor’s Report:
· Father thanked all who helped with the Len Elter project.
· Father attended a meeting at the diocesan about housing near our church. Father wants to fix up one of the ECHO houses for a retired priest. He will need help from the Men’s club with fixing up.
· Father reminded us about Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent.
· Father told us about Larry’s project to provide education to 12 women in Nicaragua. 6 will graduate in May.
· Father Bayardo from our sister church in Nicaragua will be visiting us in August.
· Jim Reardon will begin a conversation with Habitat of Humanity. We are considering joining with 12 other churches to consider a building project within the county.
· The demolition of the old ECHO building will be complete when the final grading and seeding the property is completed
· We are in the process of selling the property behind the church for $75,000 to the Chestnut land trust.
· Father indicated that the Men’s Club will be asked to assist moving the equipment in the Vianney Room when the construction begins.
6 Activity Reports: Old Business:
Men’s retreat: Maury Mattingly reported that 42 men from 4 different parishes attended and enjoyed the fellowship and camaraderie of the weekend. By popular demand, the same retreat master Father Kruc has been selected for next year. He also informed us that the Washington Retreat house is having few problems due to the snow. For example: fallen trees and problems with the roof leaking. The men took up a collection of $100 and the President will forward it to Sister Mary Harper at the Washington Retreat House, 4000 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017

7. Closing Prayer: At the request of the President, Father Daly provided the closing prayer.
All members remained after the meeting for fellowship and to share in the Pizza and beverages.
