Our Lady Seat of Wisdom

                           Council No.  11259

August 2008

Grand Knights Report

Worthy Brothers All, it give me great pleasure to be appointed as your Grand Knight for Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Council 11259 for this fraternal year.  The first thing I recognized about this responsibility from the beginning is I can't do it alone.  I am going to rely on the help of all of you Knights of Columbus to accomplish our mission through church, community, council, family, and youth activities to nurture us as a truly Catholic, family fraternal service organization.  It will be my goal to keep all of you informed as to what activities will be up-coming during the year.  I am going to try to personally call each and every member to re-engage and enthuse you to participate in as many council activities as your schedule allows.  My hope is when you are called to participate you will say yes.  Remember you are not saying yes to me, but rather to Christ.  He is askin g us to be his voice and representative in spreading His message.  What an awesome responsibility we have by accepting His mantle.  We can make a difference.

Our council is over 200 strong.  However, to insure success of meeting our goals, we need to recruit new members.  Each Knight in the State of Maryland has been challenged to carry a Form 100 on his person by the new State Deputy.  We all have a responsibility for recruitment.  Let's be active.  I need your help.  I encourage all of us to ask one person a month to be a new Knight. Doing the math (200 x 12) would be 2400 people contacted this year.  Also, our presence at church and Knight function will serve as example for others.  We can become infectious by our actions.

God Bless

Vivat Jesus

Chuck Knapper

Grand Knight
